Unread comments only in block

Description
I'd like to have the option to only display the unread comments in the block as it works in the page. It seems as if none of the tracking modules provides functionality for smaller communities, where users are interested in content that is new to them and which is registered as not new anymore as soon as they loaded the respective node.
