When I set a nice menu to the header block, it won't display the sub-items, only the root item.

mennonot commentedI'm having this same problem using nice menus in the header in the default Garland theme (it doesn't work in blue marine either). In Mozilla Firefox no sub-menus drop down at all, in IE 6 they drop down, but disappears before I can select a menu option.

ZaphMann commentedHmmm.. can't help you with that - I used simplemenu and it works fine... see www.morethanoil.com

robotjox commented@Zaph - your menus look great - did you use simple menus for your top menu too?
mennonot commentedZaph, I agree that the menus looks great, but you appear to be using simple menu for the main header drop down, not Nice Menus, which is the module this issue relates to. Or did you just theme your Nice Menu to look a lot like simple menu? I guess dropping Nice Menus entirely and using simplemenu instead would be one option, but simplemenus isn't nearly as flexible.
Also, I'm changing the component from "Theme Compat" to "code" because I tried it out in the Zen theme and it still doesn't work and it breaks the layout pretty badly.

mennonot commentedI'm correcting the categorization of this issue, because I discovered that the menus do seem to work in Microsoft Explorer 6.0, just not in Mozilla Firefox Version 2.0.05 (latest). The only glitch in IE is that they partially disappear beyond the Drupal logo in the header and disappear completely behind the SimpleMenu (when logged in). If anyone wants to this implementation of Nice Menus out on other browsers, here's the link to the site:

jody lynnI think that the problem is that there is a comma missing at the end of line 86 of nice_menus.css - can someone commit this change?
add1sun commentedGood catch Lynn! I have corrected that one and found another as well. Committed to 5 dev.
