When I download http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/workbench-7.x-1.1.tar.gz from drupal.org/project/workbench and attempt to gunzip it ( or tar zxvf ) I receive the following message:

$ gunzip workbench-7.x-1.1.tar.gz

gzip: workbench-7.x-1.1.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error

gzip: workbench-7.x-1.1.tar.gz: invalid compressed data--length error

The same error occurs using drush.
The same error occurs on two separate computers.
This happened when I tried to download on 5/11/2012 at about 2200 hrs GMT
It still happens now.
I have no problems downloading and gunzipping other module tarballs.

The file you attached seems indeed corrupted.
I tried to download the one fron the project page, and I don't have any error, the file uncompress without any glitch.

Thanks for looking into it.
It's good that you're not seeing the same corruption. It must be caused by some part of the network infrastructure here (client site). Odd thing is, it worked the first time!

Go ahead an close it - I'll work around it from this end.
