Missing views filters?

I have several views which need the content to be filtered by the workbench section it is assigned to. I know this used to be possible and looking through the readme it sounds like this filter exists, but the only workbench filter I can find in Views is Workbench Access: Access filter. I tried tagging the views with "workbench", which exposed the filter I want to use, but I don't want the filter exposed to site visitors. Am I missing something, or is there a way to hide the exposed filter when the views are tagged?
