"Add another item" for a field collection doesn't work on a page with panels' "Node add/edit form"

We're getting the same error with Panels version 7.x-3.2.

Except it's happening for all fields marked to have "unlimited" values not just field collections.
pressing the "Add another" button causes the Ajax reload icon to spins and then fails to pull in the additional fields. With panels disabled the default node/add page will correctly implement the "add another" functionality. I've completely reinstalled both Panels and Ctools (7.x-1.1) with no success. I've also rebuilt the fields from scratch and re-added them to the fresh install. The weird thing is that this was WORKING up until yesterday. Then all of a sudden, kaput.

I'm pulling out what little hair I have left right now. :) Any help or insight on this would be super appreciated!

Same here. I have a multivalue date field and the ajax wheel spins for a second but doesn´t "add another item".

I´m having the same issue on field collections.

I actually have the add more button working within Panels, so I'm not sure this is necessarily a Panels issue. It may be, but it's hard to tell, since I have it working.

The first thing to check is to go to your browser's javascript console and see if there is some kind of javascript error. It's possible that javascript is crashing and that's why it says please wait and never moves again.

It might also be failing because of Drupal changing form ids out from under you, and I know there's a way this can happen when the context is being used in certain ways and ends up double processing the form. So if you see a '--2' appended to all the form IDs, that may well be part of the problem there.

The form ID is the same and there is no javascript error in the console. Any other tests that you suggest I can do track this down?

I´m still unable to use a FC with unlimited and panels.

@merlin: are you able to use the "add more" button on unlimited FC fields? It works fine on unlimited fields that are not FC fields.

I guess I should move this to the FC issue queue then.

Some regrets after moving this to the FC issue queue. Can´t see that FC is responsible for the behaviour of another module. Although, other unlimited fields work as expected in Panels so please comment on this so we can track this down within the right issue queue.

I would appreciate some suggestions on how to deal with this. Here are my specs:

* jQuery 1.7/1.8
* Field group (works fine on non-fc unlimited fields)
* Panels 3.3

I checked the recent log messages and merlinofchaos was right, it is an unknown form_build_id.

Any suggestions on how to fix the form_id in panels?

with *fix I mean how to set a fixed form_build_id of the relevant form.

haven´t figured this out yet and in the page source I have the right form ID. Is there interference somewhere?

When I removed all field groups the field collections worked fine in Panels. Moving this to the field group module.

Closed. Works after new installation

I realize this is closed but I just ran into this issue as well. I simply unchecked "Hide blank items" for the field collection field on my content type edit form and this was fixed after that, "Add another" now worked. It had nothing to do with Field Group and I was not seeing any JS errors to begin with in console either. My node type in question is Panelized.

Sorry i know its been 4 years now. I tried #13 but it didn't work. Also I can not disable Jquery update module as it is required by other modules i am using. I have field collection field in my content type.Initially Add more item works perfectly but once the number crosses 30, it stops working and throwing 500 error
