A non-profit that I do pro bono work for (who runs drupal, of course!) wants a graphical counter of contributions of time and efforts, sorta like a giving thermometer. Here's the request:

Can you do a graphic representation of progress that counts the number of trainings, volunteers, individual meetings, and delegation meeting. Sort of like the old thermometer used for fundraising. I need to be able to update the graph/thermometer weekly so that people can see the progress.

Yes, I know about the ChipIn module, but that seems limited to money donations only, not time donations.

Here's my thought process of options:

  1. The Poll module has a graphical detail, and you can direct-edit what the votes are. Perhaps simply putting this on a page?
  2. Some sort of page that counts the number of nodes in a taxonomy (volunteers, meetings, etc) and displays them graphically. That would make it easy for the non-profit as they would just have to add nodes and wala! But how would I display it graphically?
  3. Some sort of non-drupal-based widget that one can use...but I can't find one with a typical google search. Suggestions?

If this were your project, what solution would you pursue to
(a) make the graphic dynamic, and
(b) not require heavy coding to update it [so the non-profit can do it themselves]?

Thanks in advance! ~C+F

Hello,

I'm in need for the same solution, however for me money tracking alone is enough. Also, I'm just looking for a plain webdesign control, where I enter the amount, and it gives back the graphic - so this is not necessarily a Drupal solution. But can't find any :(

Help appreciated also here ;)
Using Drupal 5.2
