Hi,

I'm a final year student for the University of Staffordshire, UK. My final year has come and I need to do a good project which of a quite a challenge and shouldn't need much of a timespan for completion.

Please suggest me a feature request for Drupal to create it as a module.

If it's agreeable to you and e-commerce could be an interest of yours, I've got too much on my to-do list for Ubercart for me to get done before Drupal goes out of style. ; ) There are many things we just don't have the man-power to accomplish! Let me know if you're interested...

You could look at Summer of Code suggested projects and pick one which wasn't accepted:

Drupal.org is currently receiving 1-2 new contib modules A DAY. That's quite a few. Your energy will probably be better spent supporting or improving an existing module. Not only will you get more exposure, but your efforts will be highly appreciated by the module developers. Just make sure you read the coding standards and properly roll your patches :)

The ecommerce module can use alot of help (or ubercart).
Features like anon. checkout (for ecommerce module) or the ability to compare products, have/save a wish list, better product display (ecommerce)...

Or maybe you can do something to improve the CiviCRM / Drupal intergration. Over at CiviCRM they are working on version 1.8 and have quite a few features that have been requested.

I'd like to see a tighter intergration with Drupal (to allow a complete sync of Drupal user and CiviCRM contact, expose CiviCRM completely to the views module [we can also always use a more powerful views module]).

I think the post earlier about working on something already created is a good idea.
There are quite a few module developers/maintainers who are looking for some help and even if it may only be short term for you, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

I think creating a simple module using ORM design techniques. This will show the differences in how most Drupal modules are developed using the ERD model. ERD is probably the most common cause of high development times and modules that suffer from not being robust enough to be used in more than one situation. It is also why many modules do not get updated from version to version.

Take an abandoned module, something from 4.6 and update the idea to 5.1 using the ORM modeling technique. This should satisfy most CS needs for a final exam.
