Description

Hi....I am a Drupal newbie trying to install the multidomain module.....I have done the basics (I think !) but there is apparently a patch to common.inc which I need to apply.....There aren't any installation instructions in the download or on the module page so it's a bit confusing and I have no idea how and where to apply this patch to common.inc ? Does anybody know who has done this before ? I assume that the patch is the file in the download called multidomain_alias.patch ? Which bits of this file do I copy and whereabouts in common.inc do I paste them.....I have had a couple of stabs at it but without success and am probably making my install worse by attempting.....Thanks for any help

Heya,
Check out http://drupal.org/patch/apply for how to apply patches - I used the Cygwin app for Windows (under the link for Apply patches on Windows) which was really straightforward. Basically it takes the patch file and the original common.inc (hopefully you still have the original) and does the patch for you :)
Let me know if you get multidomain working - I did the patch and all but still haven't managed to get multidomain working - and not enough time to faff about trying to get it to work. Due to time constraints I ended up going with the multisite option - double up on database but it does the job.

Thanks lorns....I have now run the patch and uploaded....Judging by your other post in the support forum I have now run into the exact same problem as you at the next stage too ! I wish there were some instructions for this mod ! It looks like just what I need if i can just find a way to get it working....

Question for the developers -- have there been any attempts to get this patch into the next version of Drupal?
