Hello, everyone. I have been trying out some other CMS's lately. And, I installed typo3. And, would like to share my experiences with the community. But, I am focusing on the difficulty level. I have read the forums before concerning Typo3 and the main contention was that it have a steeper learning curve than Drupal. However if you examine it closer I would have to disagree. The reason why Typo3 seems so difficult, is that,it's base package, is like Drupal with a bit of modules installed. That's why it may seem more daunting than Drupal. In its core, Typo3 comes with a rich text editor, an actual page to handle multiple domains, a form creation wizard, flexible content types etc. So, at the outset of using Typo3 3 one may get discouraged, and go for the seemingly less complicated Drupal. But, once you go deep in Drupal, is offers just a steep learning curve as Typo3. Consider this, in order to make Drupal do things that typo can do in its core, one need modules(can you imagine a site without views or CCK, or pathauto among others?) And, when you add all these modules you would have to learn them, and this is no easy task. So, yes Typo3 is dang difficult to use, but so is Drupal dang difficult to learn (if you want to do powerful things with it) So, for those who think Drupal offers them a walk in the park in terms of difficulty...think again, it is a very complex complicated framework, even compared to the likes of TYpo3.

Concerning TYpo3 however and its power, time spent, learning it, would pay off dividends. Core VS Core Drupal seems simpler..but things get difficult when you start adding modules to Drupal...TinyMCE, webforms, Views, CCK, pathauto...Then Drupal becomes a beast, and gains a very steep learning curve. Give, Typo3 a try.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi Drupal give CCK feature which allow to create custom fields with multiple options like text, image, textarea, number, float, int. How the same can be achieved with typo3 ?

Thanks

it would make much more sense to ask your question in the typo 3 community rather than on a 9 year old drupal.org forum post.
