Not able to get the "demo" look into my own site

Demo says two sticky stories will stay beside each other. But when I create a new sticky story and publish it on front page, the first one goes a different page (node?page=1).

Moreover, if I add another node and publish it to the front page, it goes to a third page (node?page=2).

I am not able to reproduce the look that is given on the demo site (one of the important reasons why I choose this theme). As a result of this, my site looks very empty at the front page since only one article is displayed there. If you see the attached images, all the three articles are published on front page, but they do not appear together.
