http://drupal.org/project/asyncapi is not going to be ported to 5.0 anytime soon.
what would it take to provide async loading on the frontend of views as well as the backend... ie, explode from teaser to full node and back again on the fly???

AHAH framework should completely replace asyncapi module (http://drupal.org/project/asyncapi). There is another module to consider using / wrapping around / merging in: component module (http://drupal.org/project/component), which provides utility callbacks for blocks, nodes, views and view filter forms.

WOW, thanks for the tip on the component module! that should allow me to do what I need for now...
BTW... I work for an organization that would like to fund this feature request.... we are serious about AHAH on the views front end.
