Is there any way to change the default value of exposed filters? I need to hide results when "-any-" is selected ,or to exclude this filter out of query when u choose the "default value"

I think you might be looking for the new settings available in Views for D7. Look at the "Exposed form -> Exposed form style:" Then click on Basic and change it to "Input required". That might solve your problem.

It was sitting there all this time. You just need to know where to look I guess.
