good day dear drupaler, hope you are all right!

well i had this trouble on a drupal commons - all goes well - but the systems denies to display images. This issue is so weird thati allmost did not manage to show any image. I thoght that this is rooted in the weird / old system that the drupal-common runs currently - i guess that it is the version 6.23 or something alike....

so i tried to install a new version of drupal - i tooook the version 7.14
A first installation was done on my local server - herer at home. All went very nice without any issues -or troubles.
But after i portet over the drupal from local to global -that is: the webserver, i run into the oold troubles - the images werent displayed

Well - have a look http://www.boys-day.ch/

what can ido - where to start to study what fails!?

i love to hear from you
greetings

besides this -. i will try to look at the error logs.

note-, i have serious issues with the server. see the long list of issues - mainly gotten when i tried to install drupal common - all the issues were acompanied with the image - upload.

well now i try to get some more insights - by tryin to get the error logs from my server admin

i come back and report all the findings

PS - can i see some of the logs within the Admin-area - or do i have to get these logs via the command-line?

Hi unleash

When you try to open the image in a seperate tab or window you get the server error.

For Drupal log entries are under Reports > Recent log messages.

There are also php logs on the server, which often do not add much. There are also mysql logs if mysql is configured to create logs. However, since this is a server issue, the log you are interested in is the Apache error log. Often there is a central error log which only the server administrator will have access to, and a site-specific Apache error log which the site owner will be permitted to see. This log probably has explanation for the problem.

Even without seeing the logs, it is a fair bet that this error is down to incorrect permissions or ownership on sites/default/files (which you need to set recursively to apply to all sub-directories and files, if you do find you have to change it). It should not have been possible to install Drupal when ownership or permissions are wrong, but they may have been changed after installation. If getting that right does not fix you problem, you do need to see the error log.
