This is not a bad idea carliton. I don't know of any module already doing this.
I think we'll also need a link somewhere for the user to have the Global Filter block pop up again, for instance when they made a mistake or changed their mind.

Not quite sure exactly how to realise this, but it's a nice idea. Thanks!

This may be the way to go: http://drupal.org/project/usage/popup

I haven't tried it yet and don't know whether the popup disappears upon submit -- need to find some time to try it out.

I know about this module but I didn't find the way to pop up block on opening page and opening certain page, and open it one time during session, and of course weather it disappear when choise is made. It works with block that popup onmousover event and onclick, so it is not the idea we discuss here!
