Hi All,

I am trying to understand the advantage of Catalog in Ubercart. When we have 'Views' to create list of product as per taxonomy term and build our own products pages. where dose catalog comes to help?

because I am using catalog to setup conditional actions based on taxonomy terms. I have two vocabularies one as 'Industries list' and other one as 'Product Status' and under catalog settings I am selecting 'Product status'.

Please let me know if there is any other advantage of catalog. I need to know if I am doing anything wrong here.

If you are happy with Views, there are no advantages to Catalog. It is a simpler implementation originally designed so people did not have to use Views, but in Ubercart 3 the catalog is powered entirely by Views anyway.

But I hope Catalog concept is not removed from UC3.

Catalog will not be removed from UC3, it's just built in Views by default, so it's easier to modify. The catalog block/menu is also in both UC2 and UC3 and that does not use Views, though you could build the same thing with Taxonomy Menu module.
