I have website with 6 languages but I only want the interface in two languages. So it would be nice to set individual defaults which preselect the languages to update. As the fieldset for the languages is collapsed I sometimes accidently forget to select the languages.

Can you describe you use case why having a website with 6 languages, but only use two of them? Only feature request with sufficient support will get implemented.

With the 7.x-2.x interface it is easy to select individual languages.
