We launched http://www.AdvisorGarage.com/community about three weeks ago.

We would like to add some elements which can probably come from existing modules as follows:

1) Add a tab to the existing style sheet called 'People'
2) Have that tab take members to avatar pages i.e. pages of members with their usernames and photos, each page 10 x 10 of members if possible

Nice to Haves:
3) Members can be either 'entrepreneurs', 'Advisors' or 'Investors' - A nice to have would be a different icon for each type that would appear beside their username throughout the site after they select what member type they are (example - Entrepreneur 'lightbulb', Investor 'dollar sign' - if that is too challenging then red square, yellow square, green square or dots'
4) The ability for members to list the avatar page according to member type in (3) above, if this is not easily possible then a random display of members on the avatar pages

I have to admit that we do not have a big budget for this. Our hope is that it can be accomplished via some tweaks to the Avatar module and our style sheet.

DIY?

1 - Not sure what you mean here. If you're talking about adding a tab to your top menu, that would a Drupal menus configuration.
2 - Install profile nodes and views and create a view to show a list of profile node types
3 - not sure about this one
4 - Add a profile field 'member type,' add an argument to the view created for # 3 which restricts by this field

Unfortunately I don't have the know how to do it myself. Would love to!

But if this is something you could help with, would be happy to chat about a modest payment.

BTW, the tab element on our site is part of the style sheet. We had someone work on the style sheet to get to where we are but it took them four months to do so I can't stomach working with them on these tweaks.

Please let me know...
