First of all, I love this theme and thank you for all your work skounis, gtsopour and the community contributors.

I just installed 7.x-1.5 and had some problems.

1. All the slideshow images are all stacked up on top of each other on the frontpage even though I've read other threads about this being problem being fixed and committed to 1.4 and 1.5. This problem seems like it's difficult to fix. I'm using Firefox.
It happens when I'm signed in as admin and also when I'm not signed in. I tried clearing all caches but no luck there.

2. I changed the slideshow type to see if it would fix the above issue but it destroyed my database. I lost all colours on pages (just white background with content on top). I tried installing the theme again but it didn't fix the colour problems. I also got various errors about permissions being incorrect for some theme folders even though all I did was change the slideshow type.

Luckily I had a backup and was able to restore the database and I've gone back to 1.4 because 1.5 just isn't working for me right now.

Anyone else finding these problems with 1.5?

Hello timeth,
thank you for your good words.

I just installed 7.x-1.5 again and had no problems.

Did you replace the whole corporateclean folder during the update or only some files?

Regarding your slideshow problems, we have added a new theme-setting for including (or not) the slideshow javascript code inside template.php. Could you check please through your theme-settings (admin/appearance/settings/corporateclean), if the choice "Include slideshow javascript code" is enabled?

Regarding your database issues, 7.x-1.5 release does not store anything more on the database of a new theme-setting variable.

Thanks
/George

Title: Various theme problems (slideshow and database) » Various theme problems (slideshow and database) - partially resolved

Thanks for your quick reply George.

I set up a copy of my site (working perfectly) to test out the theme a bit more. Version 1.4.

The default slideshow is scrollHoriz but when I change to any other slideshow type, I get white screens everywhere and the errors below but all my content is still there. Even if I delete the theme folder and replace it with the same working theme folder I started with, then clear the caches, I still get white screens everywhere. I change to a different theme (e.g. Garland), clear the caches, still white screens everywhere with the same errors below.

The specified file sites/all/themes/corporateclean/logo.png could not be copied, because the destination directory is not properly configured. This may be caused by a problem with file or directory permissions. More information is available in the system log.

Notice: Undefined index: footerlink in _color_rewrite_stylesheet() (line 475 of /media/websites-cms/ilstest/modules/color/color.module).

The specified file temporary://filex2Dpj0 could not be copied, because the destination directory is not properly configured. This may be caused by a problem with file or directory permissions. More information is available in the system log.

When I delete the database and replace it with the same working one I started with, the site is back up again. This sounds like the theme is affecting the database.

Then I deleted the Corporate Clean 1.4 folder and put in Version 1.5. The slideshow is working properly. And the Include slideshow javascript code option is selected by default in the theme settings. It seems I no longer have this stacked slideshow image problem so I will edit the title of this issue.

BUT

when I change slideshow types, I get the white screens again and the same errors as above. It seems something is not configured correctly in my installation as changing the slideshow type causes database corruption.

Hello timeth,

I cannot reproduce your issue with slideshow types. The only way i can help you, is to send me at george@morethanthemes.com an instance of your site (files+database).

Thanks

Hello timeth,
thank you for your email.

I installed your site locally and it seems that your File System Temporary directory "/var/tmp" does not exist or has not the appropriate rights. Please change the Temporary directory to "sites/default/files/tmp" through admin/config/media/file-system and all your problems will be solved.

Finally, I just changed this issue to support request (for issue tracking purposes). Thank you for your time.

Thanks
/George

Thanks for your help George. I did as you suggested in #5 and the problem is fixed, although it's strange that I didn't get any warnings from Drupal that the temporary file was wrong or unwritable or didn't exist???

But thanks anyway :)

Version: 7.x-1.5 » 7.x-2.2

I just installed Drupal 7.x-2.2 and have the same issue. I found it when I tried to create an article. When attempting to upload an image on the content type creation form I got the error: The specified file temporary://something.tmp.png could not be copied, because the destination directory is not properly configured. This may be caused by a problem with file or directory permissions. More information is available in the system log.

I have researched this all afternoon and tried literally everything I could to fix, aside attempting any patch.

Based on suggestions in different threads that have worked for some and not others, I've tried changing paths and permissions on a temp folder from /tmp to sites/default/files/tmp
tmp
/tmp
tmp2
tmp3

I've tried creating different tmp folders on different levels beyond list, switching permissions to wide open, etc ... nothing has worked. I'm stuck. Help!

I have cPanel access, ftp, and can putty a command line if necessary for any new suggestions at a fix.

Thank you already ...
Odisey
