I have just spent the last couple of hours banging my forehead into my desk... I was happily jotting along on my site, making a new preset for Imagecache, when I think I may accidentally have flushed the preset images for my Thumbnail preset. Suddenly, none of my thumbnails were appearing, anywhere. I've checked the files/imagecache directory, and the thumbnail folder is gone! I haven't really been doing anything else which could have caused anything like this...

When I try to make new content, whatever type, and whatever Imagecache preset it depends on, new images - for all presets - are not displayed. I tried to delete my thumbnail preset (which was still present in the Administer > Imagecache administration setup, but that hasn't helped either....

If anyone has an idea of what is going on, I would greatly appreciate any input! I'm feeling slightly desperate right now.... Thanks!

I finally found a post documenting my folly; to change the temp directory in File System from C:/wamp/tmp to /tmp. Though I don't fully understand how it has suddenly changed after months of development. In any case; hurrah!

Shared databases or moving from local to hosted can cause this problem. Your fix worked for me!!
