After the module fails to send an invite I click the "send invites" above the No Invitation section and get a page not found error. I am using clear URLs so the link points to http://lewblackburn.com/drupal/node/10/rsvp/1/attendees/send.

Could this be related to the send failure?

Well, no. This isn't related to the sending failure.
It's a link that's not handled correctly.
