I uploaded the GMap folder to /modules/, then visited the module installation page. Both GMap Location and GMap Views Integration are listed as missing:

Location (missing)
Location_views (missing)

The files are on the server though (and have K size):

gmap_location.module
gmap_views.module

There is an install file for Location (gmap_location.install), but no similar file for Views Itegration (eg gmap_views.install)

GMap and GMap Macro Builder are enabled.

Any ideas?

You need to install the 'location' module.
Btw: I'd recommend custom modules to go into sites/all/modules instead of the base modules folder.
