I finally got the module installed and almost working correctly - had a problem with permissions on the files/styles directory - but now though I can see the thumbnails, they are displaying as a bulleted list instead of a gallery.

I'm not even sure where to start with this ... can someone point me in the right direction?? Thanks.

It sound like the javascript might not be loading. First thing to try might be to clear the cache? Can you look at the source in your browser and confirm that the jquery.galleriffic.js file is loading?
