It would be nice if the module can have a monthly node listing too, and administrators can choose if they want to show show weekly or monthly archive.

Feel rude for not responding yet...

The modules I've submitted are things I've written because I needed them, and I needed the weekly listing.

On the one hand, what you're asking for is not difficult. On the other hand I really have other things to address at the moment. So though the correct status to apply to this would be "by design" I'm leaving it as "active" until I have time (or someone else writes a working patch or alternative module or something).
