After moving to a new server, now running on windows 2003, php5 and mysql 5, the ad module doesn't display any ads. I can upload images, and set everything up, both text and image ads, and activate it. But when I load the ad group blocks, it dones't display any image or any ad at all, just the name of the block. I need some help with this as it's very important for me to get this to work. Thanks.

jeremy commentedUsually ads not displaying means you haven't granted the "show advertisements" permission. All the necessary steps for configuring the ad module can be found in the INSTALL and README files.
If it's not a permissions issue, the next step is to view the source of the page and find the "adserve.php" url used to display ads. Copy it into your web browser (converting the &'s to plain &'s) and add &debug=2 at the end. Then post the resulting debug output in this issue...
(I'm re-assigning this as a "support request" as at this time I have no reason to believe it's a bug.)
krystalepic commentedIt is not an access permission issue. I have checked that.
I have entered the adserve.php and ended up with this:
document.write('
');
But I have active ads inside my site. I have activated one. This is what one of my ads says.
This advertisement is actively being displayed.
This advertisement has been active since Saturday, July 21, 2007 - 18:57.
Thanks.

jeremy commentedPlease do the debug steps I detailed in my previous posting. (You have to add &debug=2 to the adserve.php URL). Without getting that debug output there's not much I can offer.
krystalepic commentedI tried to type http://www.mysite.com/modules/ad/adserve.php&debug=2 and the page wasn't found.
I did this instead http://www.mysite.com/modules/ad/adserve.php?q=&debug=2 and got the following.

debug: '2'
cache: 'none'

I hope this is right. Thanks for the help.
jeremy commentedPlease review DEBUG.txt that's included with the ad module for details on how to properly use &debug=2. You are missing all the other fields that should be included in the adserve.php URL.

krystalepic commentedSorry, I misunderstood the directions earlier. I think this should be right now.

jeremy commentedAre you trying to display ads with views? It seems perhaps you have things misconfigured. In any case, the debug is quite clear: there are no active ads in the list of nids you're telling it to choose an ad from. If there are no active ads to display, it will not display any ads. You need to configure your view or block to include one or more nids of active ads.
krystalepic commentedThat's the thing, I pretty certain I've configured it properly. I have currently active ads for that specific block. The thing is it used to work before I moved the site to a new server. I had a recent server move and then suddenly the ads stopped working. I have active ads for that specific block I'm working with. I even went back and deleted all the old ad groups and created new groups but it's still the same. I even did it with new ads too. Neither text or image ads are working at all. For some reason that I don't know, it isn't detecting the fact that I do have active ads for that block.
I don't think I'm trying to display the ads using view. I have that installed for a different module, but not really using it for anything else. Nonetheless, I had that installed previously and it was working, but now it's not. It was working really nicely before and I really liked it as it was working very well. I was wondering would my server configuration have anything to do with this? I used to be on a linx server, but now I'm on a window server.
jeremy commentedWhat is the name of the block you are trying to use to display ads?
What are the nids of your ads (or at least a few of them if you have a lot)?
This does not appear to be at all related to the OS. From the debug you provided, it simply seems like your block or view is misconfigured, or you don't have any active ads.
Can you execute the following SQL query in your database and post the output:
krystalepic commentedName of the block is ad group: Right Ad Box 125x25 Top' block
Block title: Advertising
NID: 810
(I gotten rid of all the old ones and build a brand new one, so there's only one left now.)

jeremy commentedThis looked to be a simple misconfiguration. No further feedback, so I'm assuming it was fixed. If not, try the latest version of the module before re-opening.
