Right now, creating the Fill PDF link still requires more technical skills than I'd like. One way to ease this would be to have a text format filter, meaning that when editing in a textbox that allows selecting text formats (such as Filtered HTML, Full HTML, etc.), it would be possible to type [fillpdf:nid=<nid[,nid, nid]>:fid=<fid> (or something like that) and get a Fill PDF link in the rendered content. The filter would have to be enabled under Text Formats, which is sometimes a bit jarring, but it's a point-and-click affair and would make things a lot easier from then on.

It would be even nicer if I could somehow pop up a little form that would let you pick the PDF form, node, etc. and then create this for you, but I want to see if there are modules that ease doing stuff like that yet.

This is kind of a nice-to-have even though it'd be really useful. This gives me another idea though: #1883278: Integrate with WYSIWYG editors (Insert?)

They could co-exist. One could even be a shortcut to create the other (if the text format is enabled).

Most things are better than a straight URL in content.
