Role-based content delivery

Hi,

Im browsing for a new CMS to use for our new project. Been using Wordpress so far.
For our new project we need to display role-based content.
This means that we need to be able to create custom roles. E.g. Usergroup1, usergroup2 etc.
We then need to be able to tag content (news) to be aimed at different usergroups.
And last, if a user is logged in, the frontpage should focus on showing the news targeted to his user-group (role).

Is this possible with drupal?

Its as simple as adding a new role. Then you install a module called "rules" and read the instruction and its easy as that.
