The default home page on my drupal-created website (helixathens.com) seems to have disappeared. I don't think the path changed, so it seems that it was either deleted or renamed by mistake. I went to Site Configuration, then Site Information to edit the Default Front Page. The path was set to "content/home-0" which was giving me a File Not Found error. I tried changing it to "node" which gave the same error, and also tried "home," "home-0," "front," "default," and any other variation I could think of with no luck. I've temporarily set the path to the catalog, but I either want to restore the default front page or create a new one if it really is gone.

The themes appear to be Corolla, Garland, and Minnelli - not sure why there are multiple or if this is correct. I'm taking over the website after its creator has moved on to other employment, and having some trouble figuring out Drupal. I can't even tell you which version we're running (5 or 6 maybe); the interface honestly seems very unintuitive. If someone can direct me towards the best general tutorial, that would be much appreciated, and thanks in advance for any help at all!

Find the version of Drupal:

Find the version of Drupal: There should be a admin menu item called reports and under that one with "status" in the title, that page should help you determine the version of Drupal you are using.

Regardless of the version http://www.example.com/node should work unless the have done something to disable it. Do you have the global redirect module installed?

Ah, thank you. It's version

Ah, thank you. It's version 6.20. I'll repost this under the proper version (if that's appropriate). I'm not really sure what the website creator did or did not do or disable when he set up our website in the first place. I think we do have the global redirect module installed. It's listed with the modules under "Core - optional," but the name is actually "Path" and the description says "Allows users to rename URLs. Required by: File Aliases (enabled), Global Redirect (enabled), Pathauto (enabled), Catalog (enabled), Ubercart advanced catalog (enabled)." Is that what you meant? Also, under the Administration modules, one called "Front Page" is enabled with the description "Allows site admins setup custom front pages for the site." Not sure if that could be affecting the situation. Thanks for your advice, I'm usually decent with computers and I've really been struggling to understand.

Both Global Redirect and

Both Global Redirect and Front Page modules could be causing the behavior.

You can read more about Global Redirect at http://drupal.org/project/globalredirect
And more about Front Page at http://drupal.org/project/frontpage, check the front page settings to see if it managing the front page for particular roles

Have you deleted any pages recently. It sounds like you either deleted a page or changed a path alias

Side note, the entry under "Core optional" for path is different than the one for Global Redirect which will be farther down the list.

And please do not make

And please do not make duplicate posts, I removed the other copy

Ah, thanks for the advice.

Ah, thanks for the advice. Wasn't sure if it would be better to repost under the correct version or just leave as is. I'll see if I can use your tips to recover the default front page and post back with my results. Thanks again, this has been very helpful.

Also, I'm almost positive no

Also, I'm almost positive no pages have been deleted recently, which is why this issue is so confusing to me. I came to work one day, opened our site, and the home page returned a "File Not Found" error for no reason that I could discern. Maddening....

Did you check the front page

Did you check the front page settings?

I've been looking at Site

I've been looking at Site Information (under the Site Configuration setting). I just found Front Page (also under Site Configuration), and removed all the areas where "Redirect to..." had the word "node" entered (since node is returning a File Not Found error). I then tried changing the Default Front Page path to "front_page" since there was a note underneath that said this would direct to the default front page, but no dice... it doesn't say File Not Found, but the page is blank. I'm thinking now that the default front page was cleared at some point? Would there be a way to revert it back to the default and then tweak it until it resembles the front page we used to have? Thank you again for all your help.

Without knowing what was

Without knowing what was there and how the site is setup I am not sure what to suggest at this point. Trying to fix it is going to take some digging around.

Alright, thanks anyway.
