When you have two authors with the same last name, there is no way to filter the biblio entries for each separately. Or is there?

Currently NO, but this is a known problem and will be addressed in future releases.

At the moment it filters by Surname only, and only as a drop-down selection. But what if there are hundreds of Authors, and also authors with same surnames, or een same surnames AND same first names???

1) I think it would be a lot easier and user friendly if it worked as a search field (ie, not a drop-down selection)

2) The identity of the author should consist of 3 elements: Surname, Name, and Tag (which could also relate to Taxonomy term) -- eg: Thomas, Paul (biology) -- IMDB has something similar and it works pretty neatly.
