I just started working for a company has a hacked version of the notify module that adds News Aggregator content to the site updates sent to the users of the site.

I would submit a diff/patch to this feature queue, but the hacked version is from drupal 4.5 and still has things like hook_admin in there, that has been updated through the years.

Built my own system based on notify.

I used notify's user management system to maintain users.
