email notification text formatting problem

My e-mail notifications that are going out regarding new comments look something like this:

comment 'To Ajit' by ananda Dear Ajit,

"As all life is a debate"-- may be true as you suggested. But let us
not make "Debating as our life"!!

Not sure if this is exactly a notify issue or where i can tweak the way this text is being sent.
Any ideas?
