I am searching for a CMS to build a site similar to www.fhm.com. I was told that drupal is very powerful. Can someone please let me know if drupal has (or someone can build) the features that fhm.com has and how much it would cost. Also what are the average prices of design integration (I provide the design and it is integrated with drupal)

You've been told correctly, what makes Drupal so powerful is it's extensibility and flexibility. Having said this, it won't provide you with the functionalities you need for FHM out of the box, and theming will be quite complex and challenging, but I believe most of it should be possible to achieve with modules already available, and everything else might need custom module development.

However, to make it easier for everybody, instead of pointing to a site that you'd like to copy, you might want to list the features that you want, or are important to you.
