Hi awesome module. I have a slideshow with three overlays of text but all three overlays load at the same time when you land on the page with the slideshow. The overlays then start fading normally.
I think what is happening is that the overlays are all loading when the page loads is there any way to stop this from happening so that initially as the page loads the first text overly is displayed, and then 2 and 3 flow in sequence.

If you follow the URL you will see the problem in action

Thank you for your time and effort in advance.

There were delay settings available for each overlay item I believe. That should be part of the animation support, e.g. you can specify that an overlay item should delay 500 milli-seconds after the slide transition, etc.

I am on vacation until the June 18th so I won't be able to verify exactly how/if that works until then.

I'm getting the same issue. I've changed the delay on the overlay to 2000ms but they all still loads all 3 overlays texts on Load of the page then they disappear and the overlays rotate correctly. My homepage banner overlay does not do it just this one on a lower sub-page.

Same problem here. All Overlay texts are shown at the beginning of the first image but after a short while the correct overlay shows up and the rotation starts and works fine. this issue is even with the examples that come with the module.

EDIT: i found a workaround that works for me. In slideshow settings i activated View "Action Advanced Options" -> "Wait for all the slide images to load" and i typed in 0 instead the default 3000 ms. i noticed this issue is only while the slideshow waited to download the images. but i don't know yet what negaive effect this has on IE7/IE8 since it was a fix for older browsers.

Thanks for the tip Braamane I will try your approach and test in the other browsers and will post my findings

I tried and tested your approach Braamane and it works just fine. I tested it in IE7 IE8 IE8 IE9 IE10 and the latest chrome version.

Thanks for sharing.

I must reactivate this issue because i`m on 7.x-3.8+1-dev version and i have problem like other people... Workaround by Braamane not working for me.. First load of slideshow sometimes, not every time give me all text overlays from all slides. Same situation if quickly hovering links of two slides.. Decreased overlay delay to "0", but no happiness... Somebody with this simptoms? Captaindav?

I just did a clean install on a fully updated version of Drupal Core/Views/Views Slideshow/VSX, then I:

1) Enabled the Views Slideshow Xtra Overlay and View Slideshow Xtra Example modules.
2) Went to /admin/config/media/views-slideshow-xtra and clicked Generate Example Nodes.
3) Went to /vsx-example and everything seems to work fine (the overlays do not load all at once, but rather appear over the correct slide at the specified milli-second delays).

All of the above was done in Chrome.

Can you tell me steps to reproduce, ideally the steps would use the VSX Example slideshow?

Perhaps there is a setting in the VSX Views plugin settings that (when set) causes this issue?
