Events that are displayed as all day events in drupal fill up the day in ical applications since they have a start and end time in the ical feed.

While this is a separate bug originally, this is fixed by the patch in #42 at: #1460058-42: iCal feed not honoring timezone or Daylight Saving Time. While that hasn't yet been committed, it seems likely that it will and it resolves this issue entirely. Therefore marking as duplicate, for want of a more accurate issue status. :)
