hello,
I have setup a site with both Drupal and OSCommerce there.
now visitors must register 2 times separately for posting and shopping.
Can someone give me a way to solve this problem?
To register Once for 2 databases OR synchronize 2 databases everytime visitor register at Drupal or OSC.
Thanks!

I need to do a similar task...
...but between drupal and phorum (phorum.org)...
I guess the solution is to disable registration at OSCommerce side, and make a module that will add/modify/delete the user information in OSCommerce database when someone registers/modifies his profile in Drupal.
The problem is I don't know how to start.. I'm waiting for a solution for this so I can switch my site to drupal. This site (www.bmwe30.net) is running since 1997, and my users aren't willing to trade the current, old and impossible to run webbbs driven forum for drupal's own forum. The solution will be phorum but I need to solve this problem first.
there may not be an easy answer
I am currently setting up an online catalogue to compliment an existing website (running Drupal).
I presumed that I would use OScommerce (or similar Zen Cart), but after actually working with them concluded that they were crap, as is every other Open Source shopping cart system I could find (and any affordable commercial alternative).
My conclusion is that the best way to go is to do some development of the Drupal e-commerce modules.
If you are already stuck with OScommerce, you probably will have to do some development to integrate user accounts etc. But perhaps if you keep searching and shouting you may find someone who has already dealt with a similar problem, who could give some useful tips.
mmm tasty patches
Yay! I welcome your ideas and patches for a better Drupal ecommerce package. What the 4.6 release really needs is the ability to create sub-products.
And by the way, a new feature I'm working on is recurring payments, so you can do subscriptions or classifieds. It'll rely on the new actions module. Keep an eye on that one, it's gold.
Sounds interesting
I'll keep an eye on what you're up to.
My first thing is WorldPay payment integration.
P.S. thanks for you work on it.
did you make any progress?
Hi Rk..
Did you make any progress with the worldpay integration?
Dub
Currently in Switzerland working as an Application Developer with UBS Investment Bank...using Drupal 7 and lots of swiss chocolate
yeh - finally
it's a bit of a hack at the moment. I have an online shop up processing with worldpay, which has bee live for a while now.
No problems, but I would want to tidy up the code if I was going to put it in cvs. Just been to busy with other crap lately.
thinking about usability issues
I'm getting a simple ecommerce site together using ecommerce.module so perhaps i can work on some mockups, phptemplate overides and CSS, i would be more then happy to help with improvements, let me know if i can help.
important
I need to integrate oscommerce into drupal.
How do i do that?
What exactly were your problems?
With Oscommerce and if Drupal was somehow integrated how will that solve them? I assume osc and zen are the same.
sure
I am sure and cofident that oscommerce module can be included in drupal without zen.I have also seen sites done using that but how ??
X-cart, maybe...
I've used x-cart before, it has a pretty active community. Its quite configurable using Smarty templates. Its not totally opensource (costs 175.00 USD)but you are free to modify any of the code how you wish.
Of course if your needs are simple, I think mathias's Ecommerce module is the way to go!
oScommerce
I'm also looking to merge my OSC store and my Drupal , although I could live without it. Both sites are on the same server so linking to content and sharing photos between them is fast and easy to achieve. Mostly what I need in the Drupal site is just a representation of the store.
"...but after actually working with them concluded that they were crap"
Let me come to the Defence of OsCommerce,
I had tried 4 different e-commerce solution: Drupal's ecommerce solution, Ubercart, Sugar CRM and one with Joomla and In the end have decided that OSC was the best solution I could find. Luckily enough I was right. It may require a little bit of php and module installation is not yet as fancy as in drupal, but once you get used to it and dig further, you unveil the true power behind it. A little like Drupal no? The more you dig, the more enchanted you get.
Eyal
Yes, osCommerce is crap. But
Yes, osCommerce is crap. But it is the only one really useful open source ecommerce package. It tested almost 20 different carts and all of them lack something critical. osC is the solution that has all the features you'd expect from a professional cart solution. If only Übercart hat multi-currency-support, I'd switch immediately.
