I suggest proposing profiles at install time. Example:

What will be you primary use of this Drupal installation :

  • blog (install blog profile) []
  • nothing in particular (do not install profiles) []
  • other [to see] []

I did not find an intall.module so I put it in the profile.module. Please tell me if there is a better way to do so.

Other possible installation profile: multisite. I understand that, from a technical standpoint, localisation and features are the same (both are profiles), but I still think they should be presented as two different “wizard page” (first page for language, including default language, and second page for features, like multisite, blog and such).

Version: 6.x-dev » 7.x-dev
Status: Active » Closed (won't fix)

6.x is not open to feature request. For Drupal 7 onward, the profile module is obsolete. Won't fix.

See Content profile and Profile 2 for possible replacements.
