It would be great if we could fill out the "user information page" with links to the users blog and the user's recent comments.

or would it be better to cross link each of these pages (User information page, blog page, comments page)?

for example,
Dries profile | Dries Blog | Dries Comments

Bottom line... to build a community, you need to help people identify one another. These small changes might go a long way to doing that.

Recent Comments is there now ... This is the code which needs to be added to blog.module (untested)

this is done - not quite as nicely as suggested here, but it is sufficient i think.
