I installed the pMetrics drupal module (pMetrics itself was not used prior) a few days ago. Everything at first looked OK. I am logged in and all pages were displaying correctly. But this AM I looked in my RSS reader to verify my RSS feed was OK and noticed that it had not been updated for a while and was missing a bunch of posts. After a bit of digging I figured that it was the cache, so I cleared the cache tables. Things then seemed up to date. I made a few more updates and noticed that the RSS feed wasn't updating again.(No updates since I cleared the cache) I started up another browser(but didn't login and stayed as anon) and checked the front page. It was also out of date. Cleared the cache again. and then things caught up.
I then went into my modules folder and verified that pMetrics was the only new module(s) installed(it was). I made a few more updates to my site so I could verify any fixes i tried. I then went to the module admin page and disabled both pMetrics modules(it took two passes, popular then base). I had the popular one activated but wasn't using it yet. Then verified the RSS feed and the front page under ANON. Both were now current. The cache had refreshed.
Not sure what is going on. But wanted to pass along this data point. The pMetrics module(s) are now currently disabled. The cache level is Normal(recommended)
I have another site with pMetrics installed, but it is very low traffic and caching is disabled. Things look fine there.

Doing more research. The problem has reoccurred so it may be something else. I couldn't how it was pMetrics but it was the only change(to that domain) that jumped out.

What other modules have you installed?
#3
I have a whole bunch of modules installed, but none were new/updated (on thos domain) around the time the prob started. I have since installed the Devel module , upgraded Captcha, installed reCaptcha and turned off even basic caching. Taking a look at todays Apache error logs, I have a few more details. The lock error msg seems to occur every time that CRON runs, it is the primary time, but it's not the only time. The "Undefined index: garland" & "Undefined property: theme "msg seems to be only when CRON is run.
There is one other thing that is a bit off. But it has been happening for a long time, with no visible impact other than the error msg itself. It is a PHP error msg that pops up each time I add a post remotely via XMLRPC.(I use MarsEdit on a Mac) It comes up once for each TAG on the post
