Archives New Zealand have just launched their Digitised War Art collection!
This has been built with many specific modifications in both the core and the modules we've added.
The public tagging module has been modified in a specific way, as well as the search module which now works (at least, imnsho) in a much more user friendly way without any injection of complex search criteria such as negative terms, taxonomy id's, etc into the search field but instead is now placing the selections back into the advanced search options.
Taxonomies and views have been used to provide the content divisions within the site.
There is also a selection of hand-rolled script which is included inline in many pages, also the Artist Biography page is also generated automatically from the taxonomy list.
There have been many small changes that are quite hard to remember and list off the top of my head, but I'm happy to answer questions!
Thanks Drupal for allowing us to build this to such a tight schedule!

Well done!
Drupal is really great for archival and exhibition sites, and you've done a really nice job. I especially like how the comment form is hidden until the visitor clicks on the link.
Your CSS and design in general is very complimentary to the artwork, by and large. That must've been a challenge, but your choices were subtle and classy, though not conventional.
