kingfisher64 commentedOnly 1 of the 8 patches above is for 7.1x the other 7 are taken from the 7.2x threads.

Jackinloadup commentedCan we change this issue into a [meta] issue to track the release of a 2.x stable/beta release?
drupa11y commentedChanged Issue title to "New 2.x stable/beta release ?"

Jackinloadup commentedHere is my rundown of issues that need to be wrapped up
#1660918: Cannot delete multiple files
#1410500: wrong permissions are used (in media?)
#1493538: remove apache_setenv()
#1722900: EntityFieldQuery node_access bypass
#1468348: Import does not work
This will be relevant really soon #1721524: Use file_access() instead of media_access()
Also i think there could be value in discussing #1506902: why not separate in multiple simple modules ?
anyone have some not listed here?

das-peter commentedHere we go, perfectly timed for the next DrupalCon I got some time to work on this.
I think the most of the listed issues in #4 are fixed by now.
However, I'm not sure about the future of this module. As media and file_entity becomes more and more mature the majority of the approaches used by media_browser_plus are obsolete and should be replaced.
Anyway, the module is a horrible patchwork, I try to clean it up a bit every time I've to change something but what's really necessary is a full refactoring.
If someone is in Munich it would be great to have a discussion about all that.

samwillc commentedHi das-peter,
I am really struggling to keep up with all the media developments in Drupal. I think it is heading in the right direction finally!
My question is, will the 'main' media module make this module obsolete completely? Surely the media module should be able to do all this as something that's already integrated.
Don't get me wrong, the browser plus is superb with the ability to use folders for organizing, but why is this not as standard in the media module? Any thoughts are very much appreciated. Thanks. Keep up the good work!
Sam.

das-peter commentedWell, I don't think so - but I hope the enhancements in the D7 integration, especially the fleshed out file entity will provide a good base to build these features using views and the power of the field API.

samwillc commentedHi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I am currently building a new media website (i.e. youtube/vimeo videos and some pics) for a bit of fun. Anyway, I have decided to use 7x-2 of media module as it is going to be the main focus from now on. Of course, all of this is local on mamp so I can test how I am going to achieve this. I am only a bit concerned about functionality using a bunch of dev modules.
Also, going to use browser plus 7x-2 dev and am aware that this is in development. I do hope in the future, the community finds a way to make Drupal a real media powerhouse, as it's more than capable of it!
If I had better coding skills I could help out more. More than happy to test and report back though.
Can I just ask, what happens when you use media browser plus to arrange your images into folders, then, for example, uninstall the module? Can the media module still locate the images?
Sam.
das-peter commentedYes that shouldn't be a problem. However, I can't give a guarantee as I've never really tried it.

dimitriseng commentedIs there a plan to create an alpha/beta version of MBP for 2.x? That would be great, thank you!
