I'm using this module on a site and it works great for me. The system for applying it to forms is particularly awesome.
There's now a separate compact forms module http://drupal.org/project/compact_forms and I'd really like to see them be merged.
Can you create a release for it to promote the use by other folks and/or deprecate this module and merge in any useful features from this module to that module (or vice versa)?

I'm also in favor of investigating whether the modules can be merged or not. For what it's worth: the compact_forms functionality is something I wanted to have, the short_form functionality would be optional to me.

I created the release... this was an oversight that it wasn't created earlier
Hmm, yes compact_forms looks very similar, and committed only two weeks ago.
