The background color of the "Create new account" and "Request new password" changes to white in IE 7.0.5730.11 on mouseover. Works fine on Firefox and Opera. Running Drupal 5.1, tested to run the theme on both windows xp and linux (cpanel) installations of drupal. The background doesn't change to normal color on mouseout. Also, the

    Sorry for the delay in responding! The hover issue has now been fixed in CVS and will be in the new development version available later today.

    Regarding the alignment of the "create new account" and "request new password" links, it is by design - you'll find this in many themes, e.g. barlow.
