Using Advanced Page Options
Last updated on

Content administrators and content creators have some additional options at the bottom of the screen.

None of the options in this section are required, but in the right circumstances they can come in handy. Here's a quick run-down for each option:
- Menu Settings - This option allows you to place the page into your site's navigation menus. You can get more information on managing menus at Editing User Group and Site Navigation Menus in Julio.
- Revision Information - This option can help keep track of different versions of a page over time. This feature can be used or ignored at your discretion.
-
URL Path Settings - For this option, you have two choices: You can leave the Generate Automatic URL Alias box checked, which will create an automatic URL for the content you're creating. OR, you can uncheck that box and supply your own custom address in the URL Alias text box.
For example: Say you're creating a new Group Page that has the results of the latest Chess Club Tournament. You could create a URL Alias for that page called "chess_tournament_results" which would would mean that your new Group Page would be located at "yoursite.edu/chess_tournament_results" - Authoring Information - This option is simply for editing the authoring information on the page. You can leave the Authored By box blank to publish content anonymously, and you can also edit the timestamp on your content. If you make a person the "author" of a user group, they automatically become an administrator for that group.
- Publishing Options - This last option lets you choose whether, when you click the Save button, your content will be published immediately or saved as an unpublished draft. This can be an easy way to create a lot of content all at once, without having to necessarily publish it all at once. For instructions on how to publish multiple unpublished items, see the instructions in the Managing Your Site's Content.
