Could a filter be added to notify; to only notify users of blog posts and articles (plus revisions), instead of every action on the site?

I've just added pictures and adverts to my site and now I'm getting notifications of these things, but my users don't need to see these & will get irritated and want to unsubscribe...

I've thought of adding a vocab that'll only send notifications to the posts I want, but don't know if that'll work???

Could you not add notify to 'content types' with a checkbox allowing the admins to determine which posts are sent by default via notify? or allow users to select which info they want to be notified on?

I use notify as my sites default "newsletter".

From what I understand, you want notification by node type, which is a feature request currently at the top of the issue queue.

If you want a newsletter, you might consider simplenews.module instead.
