Can't create short URL to article different site

I have many sites here. One main site, let's call it companyname.example.com and some profiled sites, like ecology.companyname.example.com
Sites have different IP addresses, separate Drupal installations, sometimes even separate physical machines in differnet server rooms. On companyname.example.com I installed ShURLy. I want it to redirect people from companyname.example.com/green-company to ecology.companyname.example.com/green-company but ShURLy complains about 'Recursive URL'. So I'm left with editing htaccess for now, and I installed ShURLy just to avoid that. Changing name in one or the other place is out of the question as it's against company's document naming policy (specifically one name for each text).
