I am new to Drupal but am pleased with its ease of use and functionality. I want to create a newsletter, but the forum posts and Drupal Cookbook don't offer much beyond "install Simple News." There are bugs which apparently are fixed with the latest version, but I want something more.

I want to know what I must do to create a simple newsletter before I try downloading a program I don't know about, let alone one with possibly even more bugs.

Can anyone help me? All I need is to create a node which is essentially a template
I can use to create monthly newsletters which then get archived. Simple enough, what?

I'll take guidance.

everything you just mentioned is the exact functionality of simplenews. We use simplenews on numerous sites and it works great for everyone... the only thing it is lacking is some better tracking and reporting.

Hi,

What is the way to send emails using Simplenews module. I installed it and coould not find a way. I need to select the users automatically and then send emails or newsletter automatically when ever I want to. Could you let me know.
