Default to current forum

Greetings,

I have Category and Forum modules installed, and when I'm browsing a forum and click on "post new topic", the current forum is not selected (as it did prior to Category installation).

Is there a way to make the post automatically select the current forum in which new topic is to be posted?

The link of the "post new topic" has the topic ID in the URL:
http://portal.transformationteam.net/node/add/forum/46?gids[]=44

It's a matter of taking it and making the new forum topic form pass it down to the category drop down.

Any ideas?
