please give the users option to choose who can see his/her privacy profile fields -
anybody, everybody, buddies from buddy list, and users in list of allowed users

Generally, to add option for buddies to see profile privacy field will be really great.

I agree, it would be great if fields could only be shown to buddies / user lists, and that's something I'll try and add in the near future. Unfortunately, the company I'm developing this for didn't want this but I'll try and do it when I've got some time of my own...

In the meantime, I've created a module called private_nodes which allows users to make entire nodes public, private and only viewable to buddies (I've only just this minute created a dev release but you can get it from CVS). It's not quite what you're looking for, but it might help...

It will be great, if sometimes you will find the time for adding this feature (show to buddies only).
I will be hope for it :) It will be really useful feature.

The node privacy module is great, but there are times when it would be better to make some of a profile viewable only to buddies, while allowing the rest of the profile to be visible to everyone.

Is there any progress with this issue in the meantime? Perhaps a first blueprint, wich can be used to help you?
