Alzheimer Community Support website

Hey gang -

When volunteering for the Alzheimer Society of B.C, I needed to choose a flexible development platform for building their "Memory Bank" project.

The Memory Bank, is essentially a collaborative space for people to store, share, and discover memories and inspiration regarding the disease. Through this, we are looking to develop a organic support platform showing the true colors of the disease through those living in the trenches.

One of the requirements was to allow members to create "Memory Boxes" full of images, stories and audio. Another requirement was to allow the owner of a "Memory Box" to allow other 'helpers' to contribute to the "Memory Box". It sounds allot like organic groups doesn't it? We took organic groups, and did some tweaking to make it fit our needs.

We also bow down to Views and the development team. Views has been instrumental in rapidly building the site.

Anyways, it has been a fun experience for me being on the charity side of drupal and using it as a way to help people like never before.

I wish the best of success to Alzheimer Society with their new website - and I hope that many people find it useful and inspirational.
