I'm not quite sure how I did it but I no longer have a "home Page". I can get pages by node/# only, but they come up in edit mode. The page also has a link to edit primary link but it doesn't work. The last thing I was doing was editing the Mission and I have to think I deleleted the front page info. Please tell me there's a workaround.

What is the default front
What is the default front page set to in in your Administer -> Settings -> Site information settings? By default it is set to
nodebut you may have had it set to something else.Default page
I don't know what it isand I cant get to that page to correct it. Is there someway to check?
How very odd! Have you
How very odd!
Have you tried typing in the url to the admin page directly? www.yoursite.com/admin/settings/site-information
No pages
It gives a page not found
When i set my homepage to
When i set my homepage to something other than node i can still get to that url.
Might there be something else that you have done?
page not found
I had created a new folder for optional modules and was going to create a path. My partner sai said she "may have" followed this directions too closely on the settings page and named the front page .
How's that!

what does going to create a path mean ? or , why would you create a path for the optional modules. contrib modules can be stored in sites/all/modules but you wouldn't create a path for them ?
an incorrect front page setting shouldn't affect you getting to the admin area, using a direct page call, could the page not found be because you don't have clean urls enabled and need the long url to the page ? like http://yoursite.com/?q=admin/settings/site-information

Optional modules path
I read the handbook today and it recommended another folder to keep optional modules separate fron core modules. I the had to create a path to the new folder.

I believe I did have clean URLs enabled and using the long url gets me to my created content but not admin pages

what i don't understand is your statement, you had to create the path to the folder. Create the path where ? once the folder is created there is no path that needs to be set anywhere, Drupal automatically recognizes this folder.
Is it possible you are no longer the first created user ? this can be checked manually in the DB in the users table, inpsect and make sure you are user #1

Who knows now
I'm both greatful and annoyed as now everything seem to work fine. This is 3 times in the last week Drupal has ceased working and the seems to correct itself.
sorry

So you think your paths
So you think your paths might be screwed? Try disabling the paths module... rename
modules/paths/paths.moduletomodules/paths/paths.module.disabled
