How is this module different from the User Cancellation module? It would be nice to see a comparison on the User Delete project page.

shawnpetriw commentedI am using User Cancellation instead of User Delete for 2 reasons:
1) User Cancellation allows for configuration of nodes that are retained (set to uid=0. I assume the others disappear, but I haven't tested yet)
2) The delete button says "delete my account" instead of just "delete."
I think 2) above is important because while I was just learning drupal I actually deleted my admin account while trying to delete my user picture. Here's the scenario - I go to the user picture part of "edit my account," click the "delete my picture," and proceed to the bottom of the form. Because I'm in "delete mode" I'm thinking "delete"; I'm not thinking "subit my delete picture request." Yes, there is a confirmation screen afterword, but I know what I'm doing, right?
Having the "delete my account" beside the "submit" button helps me re-align my (or my users') thought process should the same scenario come up again.
I suggest to the Drupal people that this wording (delete my account) should be the default, and also I believe the emphasis on the confirmation form should be on "cancel" rather than on "delete."

Christefano-oldaccount commentedshawnpetriw, please weigh in on the issue of improving the wording when deleting accounts (user 1, in particular) at http://drupal.org/node/46149
